About Bible Parlor

Bible Parlor exists because serious Bible study tools should not sit behind a paywall or a subscription tier. We built a King James Version study platform that runs in a browser, loads on a phone as easily as a desktop, and gives readers the same depth of reference material that used to require a shelf of print concordances, atlases, and lexicons.

Our mission

Our mission is simple: make rigorous Bible study tools free and mobile-friendly for anyone who wants to read the text closely — pastors preparing a sermon on a Tuesday night, a small-group leader building discussion questions, a student tracing a Greek word through the New Testament, or a reader who just wants to know what a place name in Acts actually looked like on a map. None of that should require paying a monthly fee or being tied to a desktop program. Bible Parlor runs on scriptureparlor.com, works on any modern browser, and keeps every core feature free.

What Bible Parlor offers

• Study Bible Reader

  The full King James Version with chapter and verse navigation, tap-to-view cross-references, and inline access to Strong's numbers on every word. This is the home base that links out to every other tool.

• Strong's Concordance

  The complete Strong's numbering system — Hebrew H1 through H8674 and Greek G1 through G5624 — mapped to every occurrence of each word across the KJV text, so you can see a word's original-language root and every other verse where it appears.

• Biblical Atlas

  An interactive map of places named in Scripture, with markers tied to the verses that mention them. Trace Paul's journeys, locate the cities of the exodus route, or find where a prophecy names a specific town, all on the same map layer.

• Word Study Lexicon

  A full lexicon view for any Strong's-numbered Hebrew or Greek word, showing its range of meaning, grammatical form, and every verse in the KJV where the underlying word occurs — the same information a Hebrew or Greek dictionary would give you, without needing to own one.

• Explorer

  Full-text and topical search across the KJV, letting you search by phrase, word, or topic and get every matching verse back instantly, with links into Strong's and the Atlas for anything that comes up.

• Sermon Builder

  A workspace for assembling an outline with supporting verses, cross-references, and notes pulled directly from your study — built for pastors and teachers who need to go from research to a usable outline without switching apps.

Why the King James Version

We built Bible Parlor on the King James Version for two practical reasons. First, the KJV is in the public domain, which means we can host, link, and cross-reference the full text without licensing restrictions that limit what a study tool can do with the underlying data. Second, the KJV has nearly two centuries of established cross-reference and concordance work built around it — most notably James Strong's exhaustive concordance from 1890 — so the Hebrew and Greek word mapping that powers our Strong's tool and Word Study lexicon is mature, well-tested, and consistent across the entire text. That existing scholarly infrastructure is what lets us offer deep word-level study for free rather than building a new reference system from scratch.
